Emory Eastside Medical Center Auxiliary Volunteers

Auxiliary Volunteers provide a helping hand and a caring heart at Emory Eastside Medical Center.  A friendly smile - an encouraging word - a sympathetic ear to patients and their families can make a world of difference. The volunteers will tell you they receive much more than they give in personal gratification and in a sense of fulfillment.

Volunteering at Emory Eastside Medical Center is an excellent way to be of service to patients, family members and visitors, physicians, staff, and to your fellow volunteer. It also offers you the opportunity to develop and grow while meeting new people and making new friends. High school students (minimum age 16 at the time of registration) can spend the summer helping others while deciding if a medical career is right for them.  Registration for the Volunteen Program is only taken January 1-3 each year by leaving name and phone number on the Auxiliary Office voice mail, 770-736-2463.  There is a limit of 25 teens for the 10-week session and registration during above dates is mandatory.  .

The hours devoted to volunteering at Emory Eastside Medical Center and its patients will be spent in a variety of services in almost every department of the hospital:

  • Admissions
  • Breast & Diagnostic Center
  • Critical Care Unit
  • Day Surgery
  • Endoscopy
  • Gift Shop
  • Health Information Services
  • Medical/Surgical Floors
  • Mother/Baby Unit
  • Volunteer Office

The Auxiliary volunteers make Christmas stockings for the holidays; participate in the Community Outreach Program through business/partnership with Snellville Middle School; judge essay contest for Snellville Middle School; attend and participate in programs for the Snellville Middle School.

Volunteers at Emory Eastside Medical Center enjoy a variety of activities throughout the year including participation in National Volunteer Week, Relay for Life, May recognition luncheon, annual holiday parties, and much more. There are fun social outings to help acquaint new volunteers with other members.

Donations are made to local charities such as the Gwinnett Community Clinic. The Auxiliary participates in the Annual Relay for Life to help fight cancer and they have a great team!

Have a talent or interest you want to share within Emory Eastside Medical Center's Auxiliary?  Call the Auxiliary Volunteer Office, 770-736-2463.  Should the Auxiliary Volunteer be away from the phone, please leave your name, address, and phone number.  The Office Volunteer will return your call as soon as possible.  Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Emory Eastside Medical Center and giving back to your community!
